Embedded Software Engineer

Are you an aspiring firmware developer looking to take your career to the next level?

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic embedded software engineer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of technologies and industry sectors as our client and project list is wide and varied.

The position will cover the entire embedded software design and test lifecycle, involving the design and implementation of software for embedded devices and systems, from requirements gathering through to production and commercial deployment.

The successful candidate can expect to work on a variety of projects depending on the needs of our clients. Typical projects can be anything from a few weeks to a year or more in length, many involving true leading-edge technologies, and so this is an exciting opportunity for an engineer looking to expand their knowledge and experience in an interesting and challenging environment.

This position requires a good Honours and/or post graduate qualification in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Physics or Mathematics with relevant Software Engineering component.

It is likely that the successful candidate will have acquired sufficient experience for the role through having already spent 3-5 years in industry.

Candidates should also be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a highly pressured environment and possess excellent communication, interpersonal and team working skills. Equally important is self-motivation and a "can do" attitude. The successful candidate will be able to work on their own or within a team and be capable of using their own initiative to seek creative solutions to problems.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellent C/C++ programming skills and show proven ability and hands-on experience in at least two or more of the following areas.

  • Real time embedded systems.
  • Device driver development.
  • Wireless communications and networking systems. Bluetooth experience would be particularly of interest.
  • ARM processors or DSPs.
