After eight successful years of trading from Castlebrae Business Centre, we are pleased to annouce that Abelon has relocated to Heriot-Watt University Research Park.

Building 4 is our new home, providing a bespoke base for our engineering team. With our already close links to Heriot-Watt University, this is an ideal location and opportunity. The expansion allows us to continue to support our customer base, but in a more specialised and customer focused R&D environment. We now have a dedicated customer testing room, R&D labs and meeting rooms. Staff can also enjoy improved office accomodation and the benefits of co-location with the University campus.

Abelon is delighted to announce that its partner, OnStream, has triumphed at the European Smart Metering Awards, wining both the Metering Manufacturer & Technology of the Year and the Innovation of the Year awards. This accolade recognises the success of Onstream's smart meter which launched last year.

Abelon Systems Limited was chosen by Onstream to develop the smart metering application firmware and server technology for their leading-edge smart meter platform. The meters themselves, are fully compliant with the latest smart metering standards, but are also fully upgradeable and future-proofed to meet the needs of the rapidly developing UK market. The meters use the mobile communication network and crucially the ability to select any operator's network to achieve best connectivity. The model range also features the first standalone gas meter with a dedicated communications.

Abelon Systems is delighted to announces the award of the 2010 Prize for Most Innovative Project to Ainara Azcona of Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, for her fascinating MSc Project on creating a Virtual Photo Art Gallery.

Ainara recently completed her MSc Creative Software Systems at the University and carried out the project as part of her course work.
